Instructions
- Use a pencil to draw your design on a few sheets of paper. The idea is to draw your design as accurately as possible and to map out the exact size you want your logo to be.
- Use a string to trace your design, this is the easiest way to determine the length of wire needed.
- Match the string to the wire and use wire cutters to cut the wire to the same length as the string.
- Bend the wire along the print or drawing of the neon design you want. When finished, the cord should be the exact design you want. Take the time to do this because you want to make sure you do it right before attaching the EL wire.
- Using a hot glue gun, carefully attach the neon to the wire, starting at the bottom of the EL wire (the part that connects to the battery pack).
- Depending on the length of your design and the length of the EL wire, you may want to start a few inches from the battery pack so that the battery pack is not just hanging off the tip of the design. If it helps, match the EL wire to the string.
- Move slowly from one end of the wire to the other, carefully using a glue gun to seal them together.
- If you have excess neon at the end of your design, simply cut it off with scissors so it doesn’t glow.

Electronic neon transformers output very high frequencies. Some people may hear high tones, but others will most likely not hear them. This is completely normal.
The custom neon bar signs are mounted on a clear acrylic backing. We offer two standard support options free of charge.
- For script/cursive fonts – we recommend cutting around/outlining the acrylic backing.
- For simple/block fonts – we recommend rectangular acrylic backing.
We also offer a full range of acrylic basket options, as well as acrylic holders and boxes. The cost of these options is shown on the tool. If you require colored baskets, please contact us for a quote.
Our LED flex is available in 13mm or 10mm thicknesses, with a minimum letter height of approximately 3-4 inches for simple/non-cursive fonts and 4-5 inches for cursive fonts.
If your custom order is for a sign larger than 60-78 inches, we may need to split the sign into two lines of text signs. For example, our “All You Need Is Love” logo is split into two lines of text. This allows us to remain competitive and provide you with the best price.
If we can offer a cheaper quote by splitting the logo into two lines of text, we will confirm the final design mockup and dimensions with you before proceeding with the order.
If you do not wish to split your logo into two logos, please let us know at checkout so that we can confirm that this is possible before creating your logo.
We have a total of 18 colors to choose from. Eight of them are white when the sign is off and colored when the sign is on. The remaining 7 colors come with a jacket, which is a cover over the tube so that even if the sign is off, it still shows its color (just not as bright).
All neon colors are white when they are not illuminated. If you want your neon to retain its color when turned off, we can add “jackets” for these colors: yellow, green, blue, red, pink, and orange.
We can also offer color change options for certain types of signs. Please request a specific quote for this.
